Their customer service is suspect. Mom and I have tried to add our 18-year-old twins to one of our 5 established checking accounts. Ally quickly accepted my daughter as a joint owner of an account,... See more

I transferred my 50k from a CD to a money market account both through Ally.
Ever since, they locked me out of my account. I have been calling since yesterday, they tell me a specialist has to call me back. Still no call back, so again I call them and I have been on this phone for 33 minutes with still no resolution. They already verified who I was but that's not good enough. They refusing to give me access to my account. All because they asked me if I ever was denied access because I didn't answer my security questions correctly. In which is NOT TRUE. They are giving me the run around and are saying the same thing over and over again. PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR MONEY.

Ally is the WORST financial institution when it comes to customer service. They must pay them DIRT with the way they handle their customers.
Shame on Ally Bank
Shame on Ally Bank. My credit score is 717, I have zero late payments, and less than $1,700 in credit card debt, yet I was offered a 19.9% APR on a used car priced around $23,000 plus an extended warranty. The payment came out to over $650 a month for 72 months, meaning I would have paid nearly $47,000 for a used vehicle.
Then we wonder why so many Americans are struggling financially and drowning in debt. When someone with a solid credit score and a clean payment history is offered terms like this, something is seriously wrong with the system. This isn't responsible lending. It's the kind of financing that keeps people trapped making payments for years while paying nearly double the value of what they bought.
Thankfully, I did the math before signing. Everyone should. Because if this is how Ally Bank treats borrowers with good credit, I'd hate to see what they offer everyone else.
With allies like this, who needs enemies?
Worst experience ever!!!
Worst experience ever!!!
Wish I saw reviews before.
They go out of their way to make every little thing a hassle.
They will ruin your life.
Dont use Ally Bank for wires They will steal your money
They recently had AI update their wire sending page. I made a mistake and it did not have an additional screen to verify wire sending information. Extremely poor design for their wire sending page. So$425 wassent in error at around 5AM so I called and within 5 minutes they assured me my wire was cancelled. 3 hours later I received notice they processed my wire anyway.
Banking with Ally nearly got me arrested.
This “bank” stole 30k of someone else’s money and sent it to me! Nearly causing me to get sued and arrested. Do not ever give these people your information let alone bank with them.
I am extremely disappointed with Ally’s lack of support
I am extremely disappointed with Ally’s handling of a deceased-borrower vehicle surrender.
The death certificate was provided in early May 2026, and we were told the vehicle would be picked up within approximately three weeks. My wife traveled from Florida to Oklahoma at the end of May to make the vehicle available for surrender, but no one contacted her and no pickup occurred.
Since then, we have received multiple conflicting timelines. We were told it would take another one to two weeks, then later that it had been escalated and would take one to three weeks. Most recently, we were told the vehicle would not process until after July 4 because paperwork had to be sent by mail.
When I called Ally directly, they would not discuss the issue and redirected me back to AIS Recovery Solutions, their third-party recovery vendor. That left us in the same loop with no internal ownership, no reliable pickup date, and no written instructions.
The vehicle is sitting at a private residence that does not belong to the estate, and the resident can no longer store it. We have been trying to surrender this vehicle since early May. This process has been confusing, frustrating, and poorly managed.
Absolutely horrible customer service
Absolutely horrible customer service, rude, bare speaks English and not helpful at all. Blame you for the website not working and refuse to help you. Stay FAR away from these folks!

I want to start by saying that dealing…
I want to start by saying that dealing with Ally Financial has been extremely frustrating.
I am currently going through a divorce and experienced financial hardship that caused me to fall behind on two payments. During that time, Ally repeatedly called me two to three times a day asking for payment and assuring me they could "help." Unfortunately, their idea of help was simply scheduling a date to withdraw the money I already owed.
I am now less than $2,000 away from paying off my vehicle, but the late fees that accumulated totaled $737. I contacted Ally and explained my situation, asking if they would be willing to waive a meaningful portion of those fees due to the hardship I have been experiencing. Their response was that they could only remove $74.
While I appreciate any reduction, removing $74 from $737 in fees felt more symbolic than helpful. My experience has been that Ally is quick to collect money but offers very little flexibility or compassion when customers are facing genuine financial difficulties.
If you're considering financing through Ally, be aware that if you encounter hard times, your experience may be similar to mine. I expected more understanding and customer support from a company I've nearly finished paying off a loan with.
Run as fast as you can away from this company
Ally customer service is lying and…
Ally customer service is lying and sadistic and I don't think they like white people. This site has truthful reviews and the other sites are lying out of their backside when they say CS is good.
Have been with Ally since it was GMAC
Have been with Ally since it was GMAC, with savings, CDs and IRAs. Customer Service has always been helpful, rarely incorrect. They will even "hold your hand" to guide you through complex transactions.

I pay my car payment every month not late I pay early I look on my app it’s saying I owe 1,330 dollars how I can understand if I missed a payment I will not be going back to Ally the worst experience I have ever had
Absolute disappointment.
Absolute disappointment.
This is a very dishonest organization where you need to read the fine print word by word. Their staff lie to you over and over again with no consequences. One of the only bank in the nation that will steal your equity if your leased car becomes a total loss.
Progressively getting worst
I've been banking with Ally for about 20 years. The experience has gotten terrible. I can't get duplicate checks anymore. I have support tickets that have been open for 2+ months. I have referrals I've never received the referral bonus for. I've tried opening a joint checking with an existing customer and it never got opened.
Zelle account blocked…
I wish I could give more stars because in some ways I like Ally but the thing is I got some issues.
I understand that I recently opened an account with you but having to call you to unblock my Zelle account every time is not fair and tiring.
I have it blocked for about a month and by the time I’m typing this I still have it blocked because I’m just tired of calling for the same thing.
I hope you trust me and let me send money via Zelle peacefully.
Thank you!
Enjoying Ally!
I have been with Ally, just a few months and I am thoroughly enjoying my time with Ally. I look forward to spending more time with them and closing out, my other not so fruitful accounts.
Ally auto is the worst place you want…
Ally auto is the worst place you want to finance or lease your car, the-customer service is horrible, the people that you call and assist you overseas they’re horrible. They can’t answer your questions. You can’t even understand what they’re saying.. I would never never do business with Ally bank anymore
I opened my account when I was offered…
I opened my account when I was offered $300 through Ally auto for opening an account and having 3 qualifying direct deposit for 3 months and I would get the bonus in 30 days. I did the direct deposit as instructed for 3 months but never received the $300 bonus . I called and was told I would get a call back in 30 to 35 from a supervisor but I never did . I have given up and would consider changing banks
Absolutely Terrible
Absolutely terrible. Would never recommend to anyone. They will literally scam you out of money and then harass you for more. I can't say enough bad things about them. Don't even bother calling them for help- I have spent hours on the phone, never reaching a decision maker and being redirected to dead end phone loops. BEWARE. They should honestly be shut down.
