Afternic is good enough for basic use. The only reason I use it is because it syndicates domains to GoDaddy, which helps with exposure. Other than that, I wouldn’t rely on it. The user interface is ve... See more

I always enjoy using Afternic as it’s one of the best domain marketplaces. I’ve noticed a great improvement in their services and experienced a smooth, quick process with my recent transaction. Highly recommended!

After being forced to migrate from DAN.com to Afternic, I am sooooo so disappointed !
At DAN.com we had transparency, when an offer is received from a potential buyer we would immediately get an email to start negotiations.
On Afternic you have to log in, go to Lead Centre and then All In Progress to see deals being worked on, but you get no insight on what is being discussed !!!! NOT GOOD!!!
Payouts takes for ever from Afternic, with DAN.com payouts was done in a matter of days, Afternic - no idea as I have sold domains more than a week ago and still no payout!!!!!
Changes on your domain wrt prices, lease options etc does not reflect immediately, I have no idea when those actually will reflect! On DAN.com this was immediate!
Support simply does not exist with Afternic ? You can reply on an email and wait 5 days with NO response !
I need to seriously consider other options!!! AFTERNIC IS NOT GOOD

Afternic suspended my account without prior notice, deleted my domains, and canceled a sale that was supposed to close in four days due to the 60-day domain transfer restriction. This happened 40 days after the buyer had already paid for the domain.
We left affiliate marketing and CPA because of frequent account suspensions, moving to the domain industry for its supposed stability. However, it seems Afternic, owned by GoDaddy, takes pleasure in cutting off people’s livelihoods. Their support is terrible—they provide no reasons for suspending accounts, deleting domains, or canceling sales.

Reply from Afternic
Their systems do not work properly and if you ask them to correct an entry they wait weeks then tell you they can't, then if by accident an entry gets deleted the system won't let you re-enter it and support does not respond.
Afternic's systems are so full of bugs and so short of staff that you just cannot rely on them to provide the services they offer.

Arrogance! Inefficient! Waste of time! Please return the business to Dan, you dictator!

Update: you do not need replay to my review here and pretend it will help.
Bad, slow customer service, long waiting time for the payment is mentioned many times here by diffrent people and countless times on Namepros and some of that threads years old. This problem is not experienced only by me or it is a recent problem in afternic. A lot of People talked about it many times before I left the review here and still other new people experience that so I doubt one more negative review will change anything.
This problem can grow even more now as Godaddy transferred recently people`s accounts from DAN to afternic, so even more work for afternic, more emails to reply etc
-----------
You will be waiting a long time for any reply from them and when you finally get one it will look like a copy-paste or bot reply and you will have to ask again and wait again.
Even here when they reply to a review you can easily see that it is copy-paste reply the same to everyone in over 90% of cases - you will get a similar, useless reply when you will have a problem with them.
If you sell a domain you will wait a long time for your payment, constantly begging them to release the payment.
They don't even offer normal invoices so if you are for example from Europe you may have a problem later when filling the taxes.
Without people's permission and automatically they opted everyone in to the boost (which is considered usless garbage by many) so they could increase their fee by further 5% which was already high - very disgusting and sneaky behavior.
It's really sad to see that they put DAN website down (which they just bought for this purpose) but keep something like afternic up.
You get a horrible, slow customer service and experience while you pay in fee at least over twice more what you paid initially in DAN before they touched it.
I would recommend move to any other aftermarket out there.
It is incredible they reply quickly to people`s reviews here when nobody asks them for it but when you email them to get e.g. your payment you wait days without any result.

Afternic.com provided excellent customer service. Their brokerage helped negotiate a domain sale efficiently, closing the deal within four days. And they provided payment directly to my bank account the next day!

Very slow to reply to emails. Zero coverage of my domain. I have expressed confusion in the process and feel I've got nowhere/not been supported. Moving my domain to another platform to sell.
(Update: I have responded to your response here on Afternic for more information, though it is ironic that you have replied here, rather than replying to my actual customer query email first. Look after your customers before you look after your PR! The last email you responded to took around a week to respond to. I really just want to sell my domain and need your support but the Afternic reviews are terrible and due to my own personal experience, I'm fast losing faith. Thanks so much.

I sold a domain through Afternic and completed the transfer on October 31. They emailed me on November 4 saying payment was sent, but as of November 12, I still haven’t received anything. I've contacted them multiple times, but their support team has been unable to tell me when the payment will actually be sent or what went wrong.
This level of service is unacceptable for a major domain marketplace. Other platforms handle payments quickly and keep sellers informed, but Afternic has only caused delays and frustration. If you’re considering selling a domain here, be aware that you may face unexplained payment delays and poor support.

I sold a domain recently and completed the transfer in the same day. But I had to wait for 10 days for Afternic to confirm this transfer and schedule the payout, then wait 7 days more for the money to be arrived in my bank account. Their supports all are terrible, send an email will need to wait for 2 - 3 days for their response, and all their replies are like an auto bot:"We're reviewing this...", "We're looking into this...", bla bla. Useless support at all. Super slow domain transfer and Payout.
I had to migrate all domains from Dan to Afternic because they're going to shut off. Everything Dan can complete in 2 days, Afternic need at least 2 weeks. I can't believe this is a Godaddy's brand!!!!
Terrible! I'm going to move all my domains out to Sedo or Namepros landers.

Afternic is absolutely useless and has a terrible user experience...

What I'm about to say should be considered carefully. Currently, all clients are facing issues with Afternic, as shown by the negative reviews and ratings. In contrast, dan.com offered a smooth experience from all angles and was excellent for us.
1. A Push Domain option should be added to speed up transactions.
2. Customer support should be fast and responsive—no more 'wait' responses.
3. All features we enjoyed on dan.com should be implemented on Afternic.
If these aspects aren’t improved, with no updates or changes, we’ll likely shift to better platforms like daaz.com and atom.com that offer the kind of features we need.

I sold a domain and then I told them to cancel the operation, and then they said no because the domain was transferred to the client. Okay no problem, after 2 days they sent me an email, telling me that the buyer wants to give back the domain! and they asked to tell them the registrar that I want my domain in? I was like what the hell is that you told is impossible to cancel and then you cancel after the client desired to give me back the domain?
After that I told them straightly your service is a shit. Then every account I opened they suspend me. What a joke I'm moving to Sedo MLS.

Like another reviewer, I wish that there was an option to award a zero or a negative number of stars.
I do not have time in my life to write reviews but Afternic.com's 'service' has made me so angry that it has led me to write one.
At the time of writing this review, 49% of reviews were 1 star! Let that sink in!
The 5-star ratings on Trustpilot.com look fake or very suspicious at best - one reviewer has written 3 reviews on Trustpilot.com and all three are glowing reports of how great Afternic.com is - not suspicious at all!
I suggest that users read the suspicious-looking 5-star ratings listed below to make up their own minds
Users should be more interested in the genuine, lowest available, 1-star ratings - they all seem legitimate and have all had very similar experiences to the experiences that I have had.
Unfortunately, Dan.com was bought out by the greedy GoDaddy.com and many users have been coerced into moving their portfolios to Afternic.com. DO NOT DO IT!
There are other competitors out there which I would recommend using until GoDaddy.com buys them and ruins them too in the same way that they ruined and closed down Dan.com and Uniregistry.com etc.
GoDaddy.com destroy all good competition in the market.
DO NOT USE AFTERNIC.COM and DO NOT TRUST THE 5-STAR REVIEWS ON TRUSTPILOT!

Wish I could give zero star for closing down DAN and giving us this incompetent platform as its replacement.

Sold my domain bladeballvalues.com, around 2 weeks ago, 0 emails on when payment will be sent, support is not even replying to half my emails, and the payout date is yet to be displayed, the domain was transferred and is taking the absolute mick.

Since GoDaddy acquired Afternic, the platform has significantly worsened. GoDaddy’s monopolistic approach is hurting sellers by penalizing those who don’t use their DNS, and the so-called "boost" feature feels more like a scam. The buying experience is equally poor, often indirectly pushing buyers to choose GoDaddy as their registrar.
The platform is plagued with bugs, making transactions unnecessarily difficult. I hope they address these issues quickly, as their current practices are damaging companies rather than fostering growth.
