Ableworld are the largest mobility retailer in the country and believe this is because we genuinely care about our customer’s well-being. We employ professional, caring and knowledgeable staff to work in our stores, and provide quality mobility aids at value for money prices.
We pride ourselves on being an ethical trader who will not pressure sell items and if we feel a product should have an assessment we will not sell these online, as we want to ensure our customers that they are getting the right product for their needs, not just the most expensive mobility aid.
Our stores stock all types of mobility aids, including Mobility Scooters, Walkers, Powerchairs, Bathing Aids and Stairlifts. You can be assured that in all of our stores we provide the same caring approach to looking after our customers, and the same range of quality mobility aids.

I called in to the Crewe branch as I was looking for a stairlift for my mother who was due to come home after a lengthy stay in hospital. The assistant manger who dealt with me showed me some examples they had set up in the showroom but said he wasn’t an expert but would take my details and a member of the stairlift team would be in touch. This was a Saturday at around 2:30, I left the showroom for my home expecting to get a call on the following Monday but 10 minutes later the stairlift team were on the phone saying they had one of their engineers completing an installation survey less than a mile from my mother’s house and we made arrangements for me to meet the engineer at 4:00, 1 1/2 hours after the initial enquiry. I met Scot the engineer who went through the options, no hard sell just the information I needed to make an informed decision. I ordered the stairlift and arrangements were made to complete the survey on Thursday. Thursday came Scot and a colleague arrived on time at my mother’s house completed the survey and advised that installation would be in around three weeks due to the stairlift rail having a curve which needed to me manufactured to order. All good. The NHS then called me to arrange a discharge date for my mother nut the stairlift needed to be fitted so her discharge home would be safe for her. I called Ableworld and spoke to Rachael explain that the installation has become more urgent, Rachael went away spoke to the manufacturer of the stairlift rail and bumped my order up the list, Rachael kept me informed and a date for installation was booked for two weeks after the survey. The day came and Scot turned up, again on time, and did a great job of fitting the stairlift hand explaining in detail how to operate it. Mother was then discharged the following day. I have only good things to say about the service provided which was topnotch and would have no hesitation recommending Ableworld if you are in the need for a stairlift. One final thing this service didn’t come at a cost as the price of the stairlift was extremely competitive. Thank you to all involved.
Kirsty and Jenny were absolutely fantastic with my 94-year-old mum, who was in total denial about her safety when walking and the complete lack of support from her old chair. Mum is very tiny and standard chairs completely swamp her. Despite this, Kirsty and Jenny showed immense patience and brilliant humour whilst guiding a 'stroppy and very stubborn' 94-year-old through the pros and cons of the recliner chairs.Even though it was nearly closing time, they took the time to gently guide her through the specialised walkers, letting her decide what she could deal with. Just as importantly, they supported her two very frazzled and concerned daughters. They completely understood our stress around her osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, alongside Mum’s determination not to admit she has needed additional support for the last four years! They are an absolute credit to the company. Mum literally never stopped talking about them all the way home, only taking a break to eat a McDonald's Happy Meal! I can honestly say she was buzzing and noticeably lighter in her interactions with us afterwards. We couldn’t be more grateful for their warmth and care. A big, fat thank you from us all!"
A big THANK YOU to Ableworld Newport, especially denise. All the staff are knowledgable, friendly and helpful. There is no big sell just advice on what we need.
Recently we required a new charging unit ofr my wife's mobility scooter. I arrived just after they had closed but Denise was still in the car park. Without hesitation she opened up the store to allow us to get my wife mobile again. Nothing seems to be too much trouble to Ableworld staff. Martin Cullimore
Peter at Ableworld in Wigan was an absolute gem. Absolutely lovely team, so happy to help and very knowledgeable. 100% would recommend. We hired a wheelchair so we could go to an event at The Edge round the corner, so if you are in a similar situation I can tell you its a good solution. Plus it was a very resonable hire rate. Big thumbs up.
I shopped at Ableworld as I frequently browse 'care' products online for anything that can make life a little easier and thought there's a physical shop near where I live that I can browse in person.
Staff were great, greeted me as I entered, offered help, then left me free to browse, as I mentioned. They were 'aware' of my presence and immediately onhand to step in and help with advice/assistance as needed. I only made a small purchase today, but will be back again soon.
I feel strongly that Ableworld have invested in the 'bricks and mortar' and I should do what I can to support them. 'Online' is very handy, but physical presence is deeply important.
when chairs were delivered they looked the same but were not my feet did not touch the floor as in store ,and i fainted after sitting in one ,i phoned the blackpool store and told them this and that i would like to return both chairs that had been in my home 2hours to be told there is no return unless faulty mechanics ,i got in touch with citizens advice who said my chances were slim but ableworld may give me my money back or half as a good will gesture so i wrote to them and explained the situation but they refuse to refund my £2,800 it is a blow having saved 18months for new chairs ,so please be AWARE there is no returns policy for this company and i feel robbed ,the chairs in store do not represent the actual chair as the in store chair is well worn
Really friendly and informative- a great help. Served by Becca at Darlington branch

Kay, at the Stockport shop was left on her own when her colleague had to leave on an emergency call. Despite having several customers, she dealt with everyone courteously and efficiently.

The Engineer had been previously. He was courteous, clean and tidy and efficient. The only failing was the office indication of a 9-1 o'clock time frame. But the Engineer had 12-45 on his time sheet. If this was known better communication would have allowed us to fit in other tasks between 9 and 12. Instead we were waiting nearly four hours for his visit.

The staff at Able World are always friendly and helpful and will point out special offers etc
They find time to talk to you if your upset and always have a tissue ready if needed
They never try to rush you out of the shop and I have often sat and recovered from walking there.
