Tired of Getting Ripped Off

This has been happening for a few years now, but now I'm really pissed about it. I have complained to the managers at the gas stations, but of course, nothing ever changes. Whenever I buy gas at a Mobil or Esso locations here in Nanaimo, BC, the meter starts running when I squeeze the trigger but NO GAS starts to flow until the meter has already been running to $.70, $.80, or sometimes $.90. I seems I am paying for air for the first moment of pumping gas. The last time I bought gas, at the Mobil at Real Canadian Superstore on Metral Drive, the meter was around $.98 before I could here and feel in the nozzle that gas was flowing. Talk about being RIPPED OFF! As if gas prices aren't high enough, eh?

Esso is a disgrace

Esso is a disgrace, the customer service is terrible, I had problems at the Esso garage at Cleveland near Bristol, about using their toilets because I have cancer and have no control over my bladder and bowels, customer services said they viewed the CCTV but there isn't anything on of me in the garage absolutely Bullshit they are lying, I said the CCTV was probably switched of ,but if i was racist or tried to steal something they would have filmed that, then I would have been arrested and handcuffed, scum of the earth everyone involved with this at the Esso garage in Cleveland Bristol, customer services have let me down, think they have blocked me because im not getting a reply, scum the lot of them.

Stay away from car wash

Attended an Esso garage in Newton Aycliffe and used their car wash. The brushes tore my passenger wing mirror off for which I have video footage. The company Rontect won’t accept liability says it must have been loose! Do not use…not worth the damage or the hassle! Staff don’t speak English on site. Absolute joke!

Asda/Esso staff using disabled parking…

Asda/Esso staff at the Montrose Angus station using disabled parking without blue badges is totally disgusting behaviour and the fact management accepts this behaviour tells you everything you need to know about how they treat disabled customers

Customer service poor.

Stations usually Ok but some don’t stock premium fuels! App has potential but does not always allow Applepay hence you lose your points bonuses. Responsiveness to queries via the App appalling with no responses - not great for a customer service perspective.

Dropped in Esso on 27/6/26
Located next door to Travis Perkins on Chester Road West.
This is not a good station due to the lack of customer care, and No “Nectar Rewards” all the stations that don’t reward customers with Nectar rewards should clearly display it does NOT on entry to site.
I spent a considerate amount on fuel for my on ward journey and I wouldn’t have used this particular Esso station if I had known they didn’t do Nectar rewards for loyalty.
DONT USE if you collect Nectar Points.

Went in for fuelling up and car wash

Went in for fuelling up, pump really good, smooth handling and gloves & tissues paper are available. I also tried the automatic car wash. Bought a premium ticket, couldn't complaint work for me. My car is a white BMW, and believe me not, the car was shinny like it was really manually wash. Very good service and went in to pay for my fuel, the chap who was in was very friendly and helpful and polite too. There's a queue so I waited as he was serving others, he's really good. Good customer service skills. 10 out of 10, if I had to score Northchurch Esso Garage. Definitely will be back again.

The real thieves

The real thieves! I paid a pre-authorization fee of 80 CAD (in Canada), but I only filled up with 30 CAD worth of gas. There was no paper in the pump, so I didn't get the actual receipt. :( After a few days, I noticed on my account that the pre-authorization amount hadn't changed! I contacted customer service of the gas station. The man told me to come during the week-day to speak with the manager. Great idea, since I live and work 40 km from there! Anyway, I took the day off and went there in person, only to find out they couldn't trace the pump receipt and that I had to contact Esso. So, I contacted Esso, the woman told me to call my bank. I called my bank, and they asked me for the exact pump receipt (remember, there isn't one because there was no paper in the machine). The bank referred me back to Esso. I contacted Esso to request a copy of the receipt (their phone wasn't answering, so I did it online). They promised me the receipt within 5 days... 10 days later - nothing! I contacted them again... they couldn't find my request! So they opened another one for me. Another 5-day wait. Okay, finally the answer - the information provided wasn't correct. I gave them the photo of the receipt and offered to check the information for themselves. Another week of waiting only to be sent back to the station because they couldn't trace the information in Canada! And on top of that, they even suggested I visit their stations! I advise you to avoid these stations.

Esso/Asda Braywick Service Station

Esso/Asda Braywick Service Station, Maidenhead.
BEWARE. Today I returned chicken sandwiches back to The Esso Garage (Asda) on Braywick Road Maidenhead because they were incredibly soggy when I opened them and warm. Clearly not fit to eat. The guy called Jay (who works there) was incredibly rude and insisted they were fine as they were within their use by date and it was a battle to get a refund. Other people were returning food as well (DISGUSTING). A lot of unhappy people. AVOID unless you wish to risk food poisoning and be greeted with an extremely rude cashier, whom we have reported to Head Office.

I needed gas ESSO charged my credit card $250 for a $50.30 gas purchase !

I needed gas , to I went to ESSO, rarely go there cause the price is usually much higher.

I used my AMEX credit card at the pump. $50.30 in gas.

Got a email from AMEX that my card was near the limit.

ESSO had put a $250 hold on my credit card !!!!!

To my knowledge, NO other gas station would do this.

I WILL NEVER BUY GAS AT ESSO AGAIN, unless I am so desperate that I might die !!!!!!!

What a POS !
