Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 8,357 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently complained about long delivery delays, missed packages, and unhelpful customer service teams that were extremely difficult to reach by phone. Consumers also mentioned that tracking updates were completely inaccurate and that important items frequently arrived well past their scheduled windows, causing major frustration. Some reviewers were happy with the local postal staff, noting that individual workers could be remarkably polite and dedicated. A few consumers even praised specific team members for providing reliable service and collecting parcels successfully despite the wider system issues. Customers also noted that friendly local posties sometimes made a positive difference during otherwise disappointing experiences.

Re direction a rip off

Informed Royal Mail of a house move and paid them over £100 for a years redirection. Received one letter after it was posted three weeks late. Luckily I have good neighbours who have hand carried over thirty letters NOT redirected. As a consequence some NHS appointments missed! Contacted customer services twice who promised me a manager would contact me. NOTHING! If you want to be ripped of use this service in my opinion tantamount to fraud promising a service and not providing it.

Teach your courier how to send the parcel correctly!

I really hate royal mail for doing this twice to me I paid you to deliver an item directly to my house but you never came. I WAS IN HOME 3 CONSECUTIVE DAYS and I haven’t heard any single bell rang from you but you say “no one in home parcel rebook the delivery” and now you make me walk to this office to collect it. Do your job better, evaluate your work!

I’ve been sitting at home because the delivery was scheduled for between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. No one showed up with my package. Then, just before 4 p.m., a notification appeared stating that the courier had tried to deliver the parcel at 1:50 p.m. but found no one home. It’s a joke! Half the day wasted!!!

Consistently awful

Consistently awful, unhelpful and completely useless. Track 24 means 6days and counting every other package I send. Zero help via phone tracking is nonsense.

I believe Royal Mail steals or hides people’s item. I have a recording of my call with Daz on 01234221045 their Bedford office.I called them previously on the 27th they claimed they were going to redilivet that no one was at home that was what the tracking showed.Meanwhile the customer service guy said he wrote and email with a case no giving to me that it was error on address. Two complete lies. I called Daz today at 16:14, recorded the conversation all she’s saying was I have to claim and it’s second class and it’s 20£.If the item that is valued and more
Expensive is not stolen why are my been pushed for a claim???Royal mail ineed my item.

Have the worst system to try and…

Have the worst system to try and resolve a item they say has been delivered but has not. For a company who main job is to deliver items they have the worst system to let them know something has not been delivered, you try to go on line to see if you can leave details only to find once you have gone through there system you need to ring them. After waiting on the phone for 15 minutes only to be told an estimated time of 45 minutes before you get through, no wonder this company is in so much trouble if this is how you deal with your customers.

Chase the offender not the recipient!

Don’t think it’s right or fair for Royal Mail to chase the recovery of underpaid delivery fees from the receiving address and hold Mail as ransom and don’t want to tell you what it is or who it’s from on the card they leave. Why not just chase the sender who clearly underpaid the postage instead and take that up with them. Shame on you Royal Mail. Another thing you have got backwards!!

Didn't even attempt to deliver

Waiting for an item on 48hour tracked delivery. I waited in all day for my item, in my front room with the blinds open to ensure a clear view of the street so I couldn't miss the delivery. Not only did no one knock but no one even approached the door, and no card was left as it should have been. The tracking information simply changed to say that a delivery was attempted but I didn't seem to be in. I feel played and like my time has been wasted. If I ever have the choice I will avoid RM delivery like the plague.

Difficult to contact when things go wrong!

Parcel delivered to wrong address. So item shows delivered but sent elsewhere, in fact a different postcode 5+ miles away. The person that wrongly received the parcel kindly telephoned me to let me know where it is. Trying to get in touch with Royal Mail to re-collect and deliver to the right address is virtually impossible. Currently been hanging on in a telephone cue for 50mins. Seems to be the only way of contacting them!

Awful

Firstly got a card which you had to scan, thats a no to start with. It didn't give a name to who the parcel was for. And at no point have any of us in the house said behind the waste bin is a safe place, as stated, it took ages to find it. And the bin was only there because it was collection day.

What is the point of the 'Royal Mail' ???

What is the point of these lazy shysters ???
I'm 'lucky' if I get a delivery after lunch ... if at all.
They frequently fail even to deliver parcels because they can't find my address ...
Even though all the other couriers can ...
Nothing good to say about them.

Slow and lacking transparency

Our postie is lovely but the parcel tracking service is disappointing. 24 or 48 hour delivery rarely happens. Several times documenting the reason as "property inaccessible" which is nonsense. I have video doorbell and there has been no one in sight. Use a different provider if quick delivery important

Terrible service

I would say every 4 out of 5 parcels are delivered late. Appalling service especially when you pay for next day delivery. This isnt just something I have experienced once or twice its an ongoing issue. Just today I was expecting a parcel which I paid for next day delivery and just received an update from royal mail saying it will be here tomorrow. Last week 4 days late with my item, why are they so unreliable.
