I have been a customer since 2002

I have been a customer since 2002. I have never asked PayPal for support on any purchase that was ever made . I made a purchase over 4 months ago and was not getting anywhere with them so i contacted PayPal to resolve the issue and get my $66 returned. Should have been quite easy especially that the company stated 45 day money back guarantee and i contacted them 48 hours after receiving the merchandise. I am cancelling my PayPal account because yhey are useless to me!

Take forever to actually place the money from a DD into the PayPal account

Absolute nightmare of a system. They’ve removed the option to type your own amount, so it automatically defaults to 50 quid. If you miss that, you're stuck—you can't even cancel the Direct Debit if you make a mistake. I wanted to put in £10, but accidentally hit £50. The money came out of my bank account today on the 9th, and it won't actually reach them until the 15th. Waiting nearly two weeks for your own cash to move is a joke. They shouldn't have an automatic default that grabs 50 quid with no easy way to fix or cancel it.

PayPal claiming I owe £437 when in…

PayPal claiming I owe £437 when in reality I've paid every penny back on pay in 3. They're saying it's PayPal credit which I've never used. I've checked my bank and all payments have been taken while they claim no direct debit is set up. I believe its something from June 23rd when I used pay in 3 and they took all 3 payments in one day then refunded 2 when I rang to bring it to their attention. The woman I spoke to was rude and unhelpful and she refused to put me through to a manager. PayPal can bite my àrms and legs off but I'm NOT paying something back twice.

Very bad

Very bad! Account 'limited'? I sent all the documents - twice - needed and they say that will take 15 days to resolve... But the account accepts transfers, and my money is blocked and I cannot reverse the money to my bank!!! How dare!

No stars what so ever

No stars what so ever, never use PayPal to make payments. I sent a payment and never received goods I contacted the buyer to see were it was and was asked to make another 100 pounds payment(was supposedto be free postage). I asked PayPal to step in and after they investigated it, they took the favor of the seller/scamer.

Told me my case was being investigated. It wasn't. Thanks for nothing.

I raised a buyer dispute with PayPal after being misled by a major ticketing company. PayPal initially rejected it on a technicality. I contacted PayPal support, who advised me to appeal - which I did.

Here's the timeline of what followed:

Early July 2026 - Appealed PayPal's decision. A PayPal agent confirmed the case had been reopened and was under active investigation. AXS were even contacted and asked to provide seller information.

July - August 2026 - Waited for a resolution. Checked in periodically. Told each time the case was ongoing and under review.

September 2026 - Finally got clarity. The case was never valid. A previous external chargeback - which had been cancelled months earlier - meant PayPal couldn't investigate. Nobody told me this for two months. Instead an agent actively reopened the case and let me believe it was being investigated.

The result? Two months of false hope, significant delays to pursuing other avenues of redress, and a robotic chat agent who repeatedly told me to "review PayPal's policies" and "close this chat" when I tried to understand what had happened.

PayPal's buyer protection is presented as a safety net. In reality it's a maze of contradictory policies, inconsistent agent advice and automated responses designed to make you give up.

Would give zero stars if possible. What's the point of an appeals option?

Horrible Company, Stay away. They care about Scammers More.

PayPal ? More Like Pay The Scammers back and Ruin a Legitimate company's Business. Our Company Provided a 5000GBP service to one of our "clients". She got the service, required a chargeback and Paypal Unfairly sided with her and blocked our business.
SHAME ON YOU!!!

We provided EVERY piece of evidence and literally proved EVERY Bits and pieces of The Service provided. But they still sided with Scammers.

FORMAL COMPLAINT AGAINST PAYPAL

FORMAL COMPLAINT AGAINST PAYPAL – FAILURE TO ADDRESS USD 375 DISPUTE

My name is Cristiano Trindade De Angelis (alexandre2870pedro, changed recently to generationoflove1976, phone +5511944370722), and I am submitting this complaint regarding PayPal’s handling of a dispute involving approximately USD 375 sent to Thomas Christian Eskildsen.

Mr. Eskildsen informed me by email that he had returned the money on August 28, 2026. However, I have not received the USD 375.

I have the email in which he states that the money was returned, and I can provide it as evidence, together with my PayPal transaction records and account statements demonstrating that I did not receive the claimed reimbursement.

I opened a case with PayPal approximately two weeks ago. So far, my experience has been extremely disappointing. I was informed that the case had been opened, but I have not received a substantive explanation of what PayPal has actually investigated or what concrete measures have been taken to recover or locate the USD 375.

This is precisely the type of situation in which a customer expects PayPal’s dispute-resolution system to provide meaningful protection.

I therefore request that PayPal:

1. Investigate immediately whether any refund of approximately USD 375 was actually issued by Thomas Christian Eskildsen on August 28, 2026.
2. Require documentary or transaction evidence of the alleged refund.
3. Verify whether any such payment ever reached my PayPal account.
4. Provide me with a written explanation of everything PayPal has done since my case was opened.
5. Resolve the case and return the USD 375 to me if no valid refund can be demonstrated.

I can provide PayPal with the relevant emails, transaction information and supporting documentation.

I am also making my experience public so that other PayPal users can understand how my dispute has been handled. I will update my public review if PayPal resolves the matter fairly and promptly.

PayPal decided to permanently suspend…

PayPal decided to permanently suspend my account without giving me a specific reason. PayPal will not allow me to close my account or get my bitcoin back. PayPal customer support is AI generated and lacks the ability to answer anything but basic questions. PayPal has my bank and personal information. I suggest using caution if you decide to use PayPal.

My account was permanently restricted…

My account was permanently restricted on September 8 2026, only because it was linked to another person’s account issue — this is NOT my fault, I did nothing wrong.

✅ All money related to that person: I already transferred EVERYTHING out — PayPal → GCash → sent fully to him. Not one peso left. I have full screenshots and receipts proving every step.

✅ Remaining balance: 12,371.20 PHP — ONLY personal birthday gifts sent by my partner, completely separate and unrelated to any issue. Sent separately just to keep my account safe — nothing suspicious at all.

✅ I am just an ordinary office secretary — no business, no trading, no illegal activity.

✅ PayPal agent even confirmed: "You'll get your money" — but now they say I have to wait 180 days. This is unfair! These are my personal funds, not business money. There is NO reason to hold it for half a year.

✅ I already filed official complaint with CFPB (US Government).

Please review my case and release my money early. Reference ID: PP‑L‑864723699559

Oh my

Oh my. After I published my last review here, they acknowledged my payment of the statement (which they’d already said they received.) yes, the problem here is that they won’t give back one of the payments they took twice.

Minus 5

Minus 5, at least!
I ‘purchased’ a guitar from a reputable dealer, paid using PayPal, who then promptly put the transaction as ‘pending’. The shop won’t release the guitar, PayPal refuse to release the money with an explanation that it was for my financial safety! Not the case. It’s for them to hold onto money, gain interest, and then release…I was quoted three days and then I need to contact PayPal, who will then escalate the ‘case’ with no timescale to return my money. I’m without the guitar and without almost 2k while PayPal rub their greedy hands together. Once finally sorted I’m closing my account with them. Unethical is the least of my descriptors!!!

They closed my account for no reason…

They closed my account for no reason other than I hadn't used it recently.

No other reason. No arguing with them about it, they just decided to close it, and refused to listen to any argument about me wanting to keep it open for the rare times I needed it.

Utterly stupid - to no one's benefit at all.

The new Resolution Center has seriously damaged my trust in PayPal

The new PayPal Resolution Center has so many reliability and communication issues that, for the first time in years of using PayPal, I have started questioning how comfortable I am keeping money in my PayPal account.

This is not simply about disliking a new interface. A system handling disputes and customers’ money needs to be clear, consistent and reliable. My recent experience was none of those things.

The issues I encountered:

1. I responded to a case on 1 September, immediately after PayPal asked me to do so. My account confirmed that my response had been submitted and I was waiting for the buyer. A week later, I received another reminder telling me to provide evidence or risk the case being closed in the buyer’s favour.

2. PayPal gave me different deadlines for the same case — one email said 10 September, another 20 September.

3. While I was actively uploading evidence, PayPal logged me out. This was not due to inactivity. Nothing had been saved, so I had to rewrite my response and upload every file again.

4. When I first responded, the page only showed a black RESPOND button and told me to “respond to the buyer.” There was no “Chat with the buyer” section. After clicking RESPOND, the process looked like PayPal’s previous evidence-submission system, so it was unclear whether I was communicating with the buyer or submitting evidence to PayPal.

5. When I later logged in after receiving the incorrect reminder, a new “Chat with the buyer” section had appeared, containing my 1 September response. I have screenshots of both pages with and without the chat.

6. I received no email confirmation that my response had been submitted. The only confirmation was inside my PayPal account.

I contacted PayPal to confirm that my response was visible in their system and also offered to provide detailed feedback about the problems I had encountered with the new Resolution Center. They confirmed that my response had been received, did not address the wider issues I raised or take up the offer of feedback, and closed the support case shortly afterwards.

The individual problems may seem minor in isolation, but taken together — contradictory deadlines, reminders for actions already completed, lost work, changing interface elements and unclear submission processes — they raise broader concerns about the reliability of PayPal’s systems.

PayPal is a financial platform holding and processing customers’ money. Experiencing this level of inconsistency in one of its core systems has inevitably made me question how much confidence I should place in the platform as a whole.

I have used PayPal for many years, but this experience has materially reduced that confidence. I am now more cautious about how much money I keep in my PayPal balance and feel the need to verify important account actions myself.

I telephoned the Customer Service…

I telephoned the Customer Service Department, because I found the websites utterly confusing - I know I am 86 years old, but reasonably intelligent! The telephone conversation was a disaster. I am hard of hearing, which I explained at the outset. The male operator had a VERY strong foreign accent, and I had EXTREME difficulty in understanding him. The background noise from other operators made things even worse. I had to guess most of the conversation. I will NEVER telephone Customer Services again.

PayPal supports scammers

I have previously been very pleased with PayPal, but recently I orderd an item from an Australian company. The item was shipped from Victoria but when I received it, it was nothing like the one ordered. PayPal would not refund the item unless I shipped it to the company in Sweden which would cost more than the item. It seems now PayPal supports the scammers rather than the customer. I would be using them again
