Extremely Disappointing Customer Support – Long-Term Customer
How did all of my social media accounts disappear from my Hootsuite account overnight? It took me months to log in and connect them one by one, and the process was extremely difficult and time-consuming.
What is even more disappointing is the lack of customer support. Hootsuite no longer seems to provide the level of customer service that long-term customers should expect. It can take days and days to receive an email response, and when you finally do get one, the response often feels cold, impersonal, and completely unhelpful.
As a long-term customer, I find this extremely frustrating and disappointing. When something as serious as losing all connected social media accounts happens, customers need timely, human, and helpful support—not days of waiting for a generic response.
The biggest questions remain: Why did this happen? How can my accounts be restored? And what is Hootsuite doing to make sure this never happens again?
I have invested a significant amount of time using this service, and losing all of that work overnight with virtually no meaningful support is unacceptable.
Very disappointed with the direction Hootsuite’s customer service has taken.
I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with Hootsuite.
Over a period of three years, we ended up overpaying significantly because payments were made via bank transfer while Hootsuite simultaneously continued charging our MasterCard. Surprisingly, this issue was never flagged on their side. Instead of proactively identifying or resolving the overpayments, they repeatedly blocked our account access and even sent threatening emails regarding payments.
Their handling of the situation was highly unprofessional and unfriendly. There was no real effort to investigate or correct their own billing errors, leaving us to chase a resolution with little to no support. I feel like they were bullying me into paying more instead of clearing their own accounts and settling the overpayments from our side.
On top of that, the platform itself is unreliable. We consistently encountered system errors, and basic functionalities such as: uploading high-quality videos, this did not work properly.
Overall, a very poor experience both from a service and product standpoint. I would not recommend Hootsuite based on our experience.
Scammers. We closed our account with them in2021, but still every year they charge my card £1200.
Every year I have to chargeback the amount with the bank.
Every year they get a slightly different MID which fools the banks and keeps their scam going.
This is not shoddy customer service, or poor quality products. It is organised crime. The owners of this company need to be in jail.
Poor support. Period. Pricey, but leaves customers stranded.
Absolutely the worst software service I have ever had the displeasure of even testing. I created a trial account to simply SEE the UI, tried to cancel my account, ran into Google Auth issues (never happens). Account needed to be reset multiple times, I cancelled my subscription, still got charged $150 after the trial period, immediately reached out to their customer service, zero responses, tried to get a refund the right way, zero support, still to this day zero reply. But they disputed the chargeback request from paypal! Im reopened the chargeback dispute to forward the list of unanswered emails and requests trying to communicate with this company. Criminal.
SCAMMERS. Stay far away from Hootsuite. They will scam you by hiding ridiculous renewal terms in their contracts and their support is the worst I've dealt with. They act like they're trying to do you a favor while taking your account access away and continuously charging you and threatening to send you to collections. Not to mention the lies about their platform features and functionality and features continuously breaking. STAY AWAY
The WORST. Absolutely horrid. I’ve quit repeatedly and repeatedly you’ve tried to charge me.
They have really tanked the past few years. Customer Service is aweful
Poor customer service and refund policy.
Once trusted values-based Canadian company sold out by US CEO who claims she was a refugee. Disgraceful and will be cutting ties with Hootsuite.
Hootsuite bothers me. They could be so much better if they just updated their website and fixed the CONSTANT bugs they have.
I keep running into a problem when posting videos/reels. It tells me the frame rate is too high but says its "60.0002 fps" instead of a perfect "60 fps". Every video I download is less than or equal to 60 fps, this bug started out of nowhere and has not stopped.
I have to lessen the quality of my videos because Hootsuite can barely handle a .0002 difference.
I've always been able to add a video to multiple accounts at once, but now they leave out twitter when I do this. I understand that most tweets do not have videos, but they used to include all my accounts when I uploaded a video. Randomly one day, it stopped.
When they do update the website, I feel they don't listen to consumers at all. A lot of complaints I hear are never resolved. It's slow, buggy, unreliable, and not as user friendly as most scheduling websites.
I use this website through work, if I didn't have to, I wouldn't. I would never pay for Hootsuite. I wish it was more modernized and user-friendly.
All we needed was a receipt for the billing not an invoice, just a receipt. Why has it taken 5 days to get receipts. We get the AI chat bot who is LESS THAN USELESS! We then get the message that if we don't hear back to check back with them later today or tomorrow! Seriously, just get a phone number and have people call! How many days does it take to email receipts! We are completely dumping the service because of the lack of customer service!
They charge 3k/year
Have zero live support (You're lucky if you get a reply once every 48h)
Everything is buggy.
Basic features are not present.
They force support through an AI which is by far the most clueless and useless AI ever.
It's absolutely insane.
Was looking to this business as a for value potential for using in my company. Then I see whom they are assisting. Any company that would aid in, or help 'spin' violence that harms others is worthy of being shut down in Canada. So long as you work with ICE in the united states, or any such organization or regime the public will know, and like me, I hope never patronize or enrich you.
Was a client with Hootsuite for 9 years, and while we were okay with tolerating some technical issues with the platform and the user experience and overpaying for it because it's a Canadian business, we decided to terminate our account with them because they decided to put profits before ethics in their collaboration with ICE in the US. When asked to clarify and explain their decision, they gave a pre-scripted PR response - not exactly what one would expect to receive after almost a decade of doing business, but definitely what one would expect from a greedy business wanting to minimize damage to their brand while still deciding to move forward with their unethical choice. Happy to take our business elsewhere.
If I could give it less than 1 star, I would. What a terrible product that fails in every respect. The world will be a better place the day this garbage company making garbage software goes bankrupt.
I was charged without being contacted. It has been difficult to resolve with only email contact. No real human has resolved this issue.
This company makes money off hate, violence, and cruelty to humans. If you support nazi views and hate, then this is your company. If you value human life and freedom of speech, find another vendor to work with.
As a Canadian I am deeply disappointed and outraged that this company is working with ICE. I will not support this company and am making sure my friends and family are aware of this as well. Do better.
