Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 3,631 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently complain that delivery times are highly unpredictable, noting that next-day shipping promises often fail and parcels arrive days late or are left unsecured outside properties. Consumers also note that customer support is largely unresponsive, making it very difficult to get meaningful help when trying to resolve missing orders, faulty products, or delivery delays. Some reviewers were satisfied with the service, mentioning that their purchases arrived on time and any occasional issues were handled quickly. Others appreciate the consistent assistance provided by support agents who successfully solve problems and keep them coming back.

I am SICK to the back teeth of their lazy drivers!

I am SICK to the back teeth of their lazy drivers not doing the job they are paid to do! And that is deliver the package to the actual front door! My last one was left by the lift door in my block of flats and the driver stated on the "item delivered" section that it had been left in the letterbox! Liar! I've had parcels stolen from the likes of Evri, DPD etc because their drivers do the same thing, leave parcels anywhere but in your hand. I've even had one slung into the lift! I've put a sign on the flats front door asking the drivers to go to the actual flat but obviously they aren't taking notice. Amazon get quite a bit of money out of me over the year through Prime and paying the top tier for Prime Music but if this carries on I will leave. Simplest solution for me is to have the option for EVERY item to be allowed to get delivered to the likes of an ASDA. Problem solved!

Gone down hill

Over the last month, I have had 3 orders that were sold as "get it tomorrow" if you order within a certain time. All 3 orders were late, in 2 cases a day late and in one case 2 days late. This to me is dishonest because if they were truthful, I could have shopped somewhere else and got it within the same timeframe and maybe cheaper.

I have been an Amazon customer for…

I have been an Amazon customer for approximately 25 years, but after my recent experience with Amazon UK I no longer trust either its payment systems or its complaint-resolution process and do not intend to use Amazon again.

A number of unauthorised Amazon.co.uk transactions appeared on my card. I contacted Amazon and spent a considerable amount of time trying to resolve the issue. I was initially told that the charges would be reversed/refunded, including being given an expected timeframe for that to occur.

Instead, after further contact, Amazon subsequently advised me that my account had not been compromised and declined to reverse the charges. That does not answer the fundamental issue: I did not authorise these transactions.

What has made the experience considerably worse is Amazon’s complaint process. I simply wanted to put a formal complaint in writing, explain what had happened, obtain a meaningful written response and give Amazon one final opportunity to resolve the matter. I have been unable to find any readily accessible Amazon UK email address through which an ordinary customer can lodge such a complaint. Instead, customers are funnelled back through telephone/chat customer service, where I have already spent substantial time without obtaining a satisfactory resolution.

For a business of Amazon’s size, I find that extraordinary. Regardless of the ultimate outcome of a complaint, customers should be able to submit a clear written complaint and receive a substantive written response.

I will now have to dispute the transactions through my bank. More importantly for Amazon, after approximately 25 years as a customer, this experience has destroyed my confidence in the company. The unauthorised charges were concerning enough; the way Amazon dealt with my attempts to resolve them was worse.

I am posting this review because Amazon has made it remarkably difficult simply to put this grievance to them formally in writing. I would still welcome Amazon contacting me and making the situation right, but based on my experience to date I have little confidence that will happen.

Consistant results.

Amazons delivery and returns are rarely a problem. I have used them for a good year now and have to say nearly all of my orders have delivered promptly and arrived undamaged. If I return an item the process is easy and never questioned. Occasionaly an order takes longer than expected but maybe that normal.

Dangerous broken shipment: Can I speak to someone at Amazon…

Can I speak to someone at Amazon please. I bought a Kilner jar, it arrived in a damaged box and was smashed. The returns policy states that I am to send this back. It is irresponsible to send a box of broken glass back through the mail and it also costs me money meaning I pay for the whole exercise. I can provide photographs and evidence no problem. The worst thing is that I cannot speak to a human. For a multibillion dollar industry there should be help representatives I can work with on this issue. I have turned to Trustpilot to illicit a response and help. I will change my Trustpilot rating if there is such a thing as customer service here. Thank you

UPDATE: I eventually figured out where to locate speaking to a human being and sort out the issue. Mohammed the person who helped me made quick effective decisions to resolve the situation telling me I could provide images of the damage instead and there was no need to ship broken glass. The only reason I don't give it five stars is the effort in locating how to speak to a human being which was buried in the website.

We are sick to death of Amazon.co.uk…

We are sick to death of Amazon.co.uk selling items advertised as "Next Day Delivery" to their PRIME members.
This time, 2 items, ordered on Friday for Next Day Delivery, Now is Monday STILL not arived, this is happening more and more aften, more of less at least once a week. it is also FALSE advertising.
Their customer service are no help at all, most of them don't have a clue what to do, or even how to speak in English.

Amazon is going downhill.

Recently, I’ve experienced a significant decline in the quality of service from Amazon, from issues with receiving the correct and genuine products to poor customer service. Responses have often been inadequate, and representatives seem unable to resolve problems effectively.

It’s a real shame to see this decline. Amazon was once a great and reliable platform, but unfortunately, the overall quality of its service now seems to be going downhill.

I don't think this is my First Amazon…

I don't think this is my First Amazon review.
I have a constant complaint about what Amazon considers a delivery and any ability to leave feedback regarding Amazon's performance and not just their keep chasing for customer reviews, Amazon delivery drivers need reviews also.
I had a delivery yesterday and I watched the delivery driver walk to my property and just leave the package on the doorstep, No knock on the door or ringing of the doorbell to let me know a package had been delivered. I have complained to Amazon directly several times now regarding this practice to be assured this is not their correct procedure and the delivery driver is supposed to knock and hand the package to the addressee. Yea, and pigs fly. I've been assured the driver will be spoken to and advised of correct procedures yet it happens time after time.
Aside from the convenience of using Amazon, its deliveries are rubbish. It's not delivered, it's abandoned on a doorstep undelivered.

Really bad recently

The Amazon shopping is just going downhill and the customer service is not reliable and hard to get hold of.
For the last several orders I had some kind of issues with every one of them. Missing items in the package, problems with getting refund, driver leaving parcels by the entrance door to the block, instead of coming to the flat (I live on the first floor). And yesterday I was waiting the whole day for a parcel which didn't came at all, without any information. Today there is note: now it's coming today, sorry for the delay. Seriously, they are wasting people's time and money and don't care. I did the last purchases only because I got the refund for my missing items on the gift card and want to spend the money, but after that I will do my shopping somewhere else, it's just not worth the stress and wasted time.

Amazon pallet box’s is a SCAM

I ordered an Amazon pallet box for £69:99 what a scam
They only sent me a pair of ear buds and a watch for monitoring you health.
I have complained but they are only offering half of the costs back .
I’m still in dispute and will have to get PayPal involved to recover my money.

Distance Selling - Watch out, you may be in for a nasty surprise, when your item is not as expected....

We are living in a "One Size Fits All Society....! "...you are all treated the same....!" So, be careful when buying on these platforms. If you are ederly, have mobilty problems, and have advised Amazon of this - AI jumps in and "you are all treated the same...." applies without exception. Artificial, yes. Intelligence - Np.

I have been a loyal and regular customer of this website for over 20 years, and have spent considerable amounts of money with Amazon. HOWEVER, Amazon is a platform permitting sellers to advertise fake goods, stating that they are in the UK, when it is clear that they are being shipped in from other countries. The item arrives - finally - and it is very obviously a faux item.

This is distance selling. So, there is no opportunity to examine goods prior to purchase. If an item is less than expected, in one case recently, damaged and without a box, surely I have the right of return!

INTERESTINGLY, I have come across notations on the site stating that; a) buyers tend to hold on to an item, or; b) the item is subject to frequent return!

Given the above, where is the justification for threatening an 85 year old woman with mobility problems that are well known to Amazon with closure of her account, should she be sold defective or faux items?

Red bannered messages will appear threatening me with closure of the account due to the frequency of returns. AMAZON STATE THAT THIS IS TRIGGERED AUTOMATICALLY.

HAVING SAID THE ABOVE, WHY IS THAT FREQUENT BUYERS, OF WHICH I AM ONE, WHO RETAIN ITEMS AND BUY VERY FREQUENTLY DO NOT RECEIVE ANY RECOGNITION, MUCH LESS AN EXPRESSION OF AMAZON'S APPRECIATION OF THEIR CUSTOM?

Out of balance? Yes, of course it is. The Customer is always wrong.

I have just launched a Formal Complaint with Customer Service, and received the usual degree of unnecessary aggresson, talked down and over, and parrot fashion repetition of the same scripted information.

Customer Service is, as usual, located offshore. Will a formal complaint be acknowledged and dealt with? Probably not.

I have read other reviewers comments, and for the most part, they are equally negative. Why do you think this is, Amazon?

Amazon's high handed, cavalier attitude toward the buying public is well known. Market domination can fail if this downward trend is not arrested and permitted to continue to accelerate.
