They closed my account for no reason…
They closed my account for no reason other than I hadn't used it recently.
No other reason. No arguing with them about it, they just decided to close it, and refused to listen to any argument about me wanting to keep it open for the rare times I needed it.
Utterly stupid - to no one's benefit at all.
Can't cancel 4x payment that has not been received by the company
Normally there is no problem. But I made a mistake twice about creating a 4x payment and there is no way to delete it.
The company have not received any money to my knowledge.
The new Resolution Center has seriously damaged my trust in PayPal
The new PayPal Resolution Center has so many reliability and communication issues that, for the first time in years of using PayPal, I have started questioning how comfortable I am keeping money in my PayPal account.
This is not simply about disliking a new interface. A system handling disputes and customers’ money needs to be clear, consistent and reliable. My recent experience was none of those things.
The issues I encountered:
1. I responded to a case on 1 September, immediately after PayPal asked me to do so. My account confirmed that my response had been submitted and I was waiting for the buyer. A week later, I received another reminder telling me to provide evidence or risk the case being closed in the buyer’s favour.
2. PayPal gave me different deadlines for the same case — one email said 10 September, another 20 September.
3. While I was actively uploading evidence, PayPal logged me out. This was not due to inactivity. Nothing had been saved, so I had to rewrite my response and upload every file again.
4. When I first responded, the page only showed a black RESPOND button and told me to “respond to the buyer.” There was no “Chat with the buyer” section. After clicking RESPOND, the process looked like PayPal’s previous evidence-submission system, so it was unclear whether I was communicating with the buyer or submitting evidence to PayPal.
5. When I later logged in after receiving the incorrect reminder, a new “Chat with the buyer” section had appeared, containing my 1 September response. I have screenshots of both pages with and without the chat.
6. I received no email confirmation that my response had been submitted. The only confirmation was inside my PayPal account.
I contacted PayPal to confirm that my response was visible in their system and also offered to provide detailed feedback about the problems I had encountered with the new Resolution Center. They confirmed that my response had been received, did not address the wider issues I raised or take up the offer of feedback, and closed the support case shortly afterwards.
The individual problems may seem minor in isolation, but taken together — contradictory deadlines, reminders for actions already completed, lost work, changing interface elements and unclear submission processes — they raise broader concerns about the reliability of PayPal’s systems.
PayPal is a financial platform holding and processing customers’ money. Experiencing this level of inconsistency in one of its core systems has inevitably made me question how much confidence I should place in the platform as a whole.
I have used PayPal for many years, but this experience has materially reduced that confidence. I am now more cautious about how much money I keep in my PayPal balance and feel the need to verify important account actions myself.
I telephoned the Customer Service…
I telephoned the Customer Service Department, because I found the websites utterly confusing - I know I am 86 years old, but reasonably intelligent! The telephone conversation was a disaster. I am hard of hearing, which I explained at the outset. The male operator had a VERY strong foreign accent, and I had EXTREME difficulty in understanding him. The background noise from other operators made things even worse. I had to guess most of the conversation. I will NEVER telephone Customer Services again.
PayPal supports scammers
I have previously been very pleased with PayPal, but recently I orderd an item from an Australian company. The item was shipped from Victoria but when I received it, it was nothing like the one ordered. PayPal would not refund the item unless I shipped it to the company in Sweden which would cost more than the item. It seems now PayPal supports the scammers rather than the customer. I would be using them again
I am here to talk about pay pals…
I am here to talk about pay pals "pay-in-4" completely ridiculous and scummy!! I have always paid ontime or early (most of the time early) then for no reason you cant use it anymore. Like why would I want to use a service like this when companies like Sezzle and affirm, afterpay offer large amounts based on credit and repayment consistency and are extremely transparent with how much you can spend. Paypal has always been a joke I was optimistic with their pay-in-4 and have been using steady for a years now! They are going to respond to this message telling me that its an "automatic system " that determines each purchase blah blah blah so id all the other sites but they dont just take it away after you've been using it and paying back early and they also tell you what you have to spend and all the info.
So im going to finsh my payments and walk away from them because they do not value you as a customer and they are not as transparent as other sites.
My handle is kimberleywaller335 if you'd like to try and dispute (good luck) what i am saying message me on paypal then. Change your faulty system and maybe ill stay but for now people should beware and stick to more transparent companies like the ones mentioned earlier.
item from Aliexpress using…
Purchased an item from Aliexpress using Paypal. $187 ,item did not even turn on (electronic device). supplied pics to paypal and paypal still kept money for seller. seller sent a return postage label but was written in Chinese so was un usable .There investigation as they call it doesnt mean they will contact each party for facts ,but just decide who THEY think should keep the money. not moral or ethical buy any standard. BE WARNED they dont need evidence or permission to take money from your bank account even if you close your Paypal account.
This is one of the worst companies I…
This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. One of my customers made a credit card payment of approximately $1,200, and PayPal charged me around $43 in fees just to process the payment.
Then, instead of making the remaining money available to me, they only released about $580 for me to transfer to my bank account and placed approximately $680 on hold for 21 days.
To make matters worse, when I transferred the $580 that was available to my bank account, I had to pay another $9 transfer fee. When the rest of my money is finally released, I will probably have to pay another fee just to transfer that money to my bank as well.
In the end, on a single payment of approximately $1,200, I will end up paying close to $60 in fees, while PayPal holds a large portion of my money for 21 days.
If you have another option for accepting payments from your customers, especially if you are self-employed or run a small business, think twice before depending on PayPal. They charge high fees and can still hold a significant portion of your money for weeks.
After this experience, I would never recommend relying on PayPal to receive payments from customers.
Close my account
I’ve had so much money stolen out of PayPal and all they do is blame me. Well I finally had it and now I can’t close my account! Keeps making me change all my login info and still can’t get in to close my account. I guess they need me to keep it open so they can keep the scammers in business! At this point all I want to do is close my account!
I had a large credit balance on my…
I had a large credit balance on my PayPal account and I called in on September 2. That refund was supposed to have been issued that day. I spoke to a representative named JAY. I called today to see how it’s going and the agent told me it’s never been submitted. I think this is pretty poor customer service. I thought I could trust him and he let me down.
PayPal no longer supports the consumer
It saddens me to write this review.
PayPal has been excellent in resolving issues. A company had a product delivered to the wrong address (we assume, ) and claim they have a signed receipt so PayPal will go no further.
They have not asked for documents from the company, just accept it
Watching the wording on the website, PayPal is steadily moving away from standing with the consumer.
Very sad!
Sanctioned thievery, awful
Used to be great, now simply controlling thieves, if you get a refund, they don’t pay you the full amount due. They also add on a bit to every transaction. They now sell all your data also. Pay in 3 was the only reason I kept using them but it’s so unreliable, I haven’t been late for a payment and they keep blocking pay in 3 option even though my total is minute.
Will be closing my account as soon as it’s settled, so done with US tech.
A devastating and unprofessional…
A devastating and unprofessional service.
This horrible experience started, when my friend in the United States sent me £1130.15 and mistakenly pressed the goods and services button,
we both told PayPal the transfer is for friends and family it's not for goods or services, they acknowledged that and reversed the fee £55.56 but kept the remaining balance about £1075 on hold.
Since 4th September 2026 we call them almost everyday.
They told us to exchange messages on PayPal to release the money, we did but no release happened.
Then, today, we were told to cancel the case to release the money, we did, they said you receive the money in 24 to 40 hrs.
However, in this evening, I received a suspicious looking call " told me "you receive your money in 21 days".
In addition, I have written a complaint email to them, though, they never responded to it yet.
If I have been known that the company is unprofessional and has flip flaping responses, I would not use it.
This flip flaping behaviour has more damaging effects to the company itself.
I and my family never use this service in future should it remains open and operational.
If hacked, hacker gets access to ALL your cards
Paypal works well, until you are hacked! Then the hacker /scammer works their way through all the cards registered on your Paypal account until one of them 'pays up'. Thank goodness Chase bank recognised suspicious activity on my account and I was lucky that they declined all the activity through Paypal. However another card registered with paypal didn' fare too well.
Dont think Paypal will help you
be very careful using paypal and think you are safe and covered from fraud. I recently purchased $187 item which did not even turn on (electronic) and seller supplied retrun label written in Chinese. Paypal found in favour of seller saying return label was supplied and now will not help and im stuck with useless $187 item.
DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED&DISGUSTED WITH PAYPAL – CURRENT DISPUTE
We are currently going through a dispute with PayPal after paying for a professional music mixing service through SoundBetter.
We paid half of the agreed amount for the mix. Unfortunately, we were extremely dissatisfied with the first mix. It was absolutely awful; it was distorted, and the mix was unsatisfactory and unsatisfying. The music was distorted, and we did not feel the work was of an acceptable professional standard. Although further mixes were supposed to be provided, we decided that we simply could not continue with the service after hearing the first version.
We therefore raised a complaint with PayPal on 15 August and requested the money we had paid back.
What has been incredibly frustrating is that, despite explaining the situation, PayPal has decided not to refund us, and we are now being left going back and forth between PayPal and SoundBetter.
We genuinely cannot understand how this is considered fair.
We paid for a professional service, received a mix that we considered unacceptable, stopped the work rather than throwing more money into something we had lost confidence in, and asked for the money we had already paid to be returned.
The consequences are now very real for us. If our money is not returned, then we cannot get our music mixed professionally. This is music we have invested a great deal of time, effort and money into, and we simply want the opportunity to have it finished to the professional standard we originally set out to achieve.
I have used PayPal for many years and once had a great deal of confidence in the company. Sadly, this experience has left me questioning that trust.
We are not asking for something we have not paid for. We are asking PayPal to properly consider the circumstances of this dispute and treat us fairly.
PayPal needs to remember that behind every transaction is a real person, a real project and real money. You never know what someone is going through.
At the moment, we feel completely let down. So I hope Enrique Lores sees this message. You should look at all the terrible and unsatisfied reviews you have and then gives us a full refund plus compensation for all the stress and distress we have all gone through

Missing 380$ from my account and these people won't do anything about it. What a sham of an organisation
Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible! They have held over $39,000.00 in funds for over 2 weeks. Both parties have requested the funds to be released but PayPal refuses. PayPal says they can hold the funds for up to 21 days before being released. This is criminal!
